a bit about me ...

From the youngest age I have enjoyed making things, and blessed with the gift of a very low boredom threshold I need to be busy most of the time. Whenever possible I busy myself with making things.

I got involved with computers by chance, learning by the trusty method of curiosity, trial and error. About five years ago I began noodling about with Photoshop, and started finding ways to make things digitally. From there my curiosity led me to learn to use other applications, and the joys of web design.

I create digital art from scanned images (doodles mostly, in ink and watercolor), photographs and hand-crafted photoshop bits. I don't use stock images for my art. These are available to view, comment on and buy from a number of online galleries.

I love color, symmetry, spirals and swirly things; architecture with ornate fiddly bits and wrought iron railings; lush tactile textiles, symbolism and shiny things. I love language and I love to learn. I believe in the power of positive thinking. I have to have music.

When not nudging pixels about I love to draw, paint, sew, knit, make jewelry and shiny things. In time I'll add some of these creations to the portfolio. Sometimes, I sleep.

Thanks for dropping by, come back again soon to see my latest projects!

... & a bit about this site

The purpose of this site, a perpetual work in progress, is as a place for me to experiment and an online portfolio of my recent projects.

I've endeavored to make this site as universally viewable as possible. Validated by the W3C people for XHTML 1.0 Transitional, CSS, and the Section 508 accessibility thing. I'm constantly tinkering about in the background to make it leaner and faster. By the time you read this, version umpteen.12 will be simmering away in it's early stages of development.

To enjoy your visit this site is best viewed on a modern browser: the latest versions of Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Netscape, Internet Explorer and such. Firefox is my personal choice ;o)

Check here if you have the latest version:

In older /different browser versions (to which I don't have access just now) the code might break and mess up the layout. Or worse. I'm sorry, but it's one of the curious foibles of the interweb.

If you're having problems viewing this site please let me know, and I'll do what I can from this end to make it work. Thank you for your patience :o)
